Fujifilm released the firmware version 3.00 for its X-T3 camera system, resulting in improved face/eye detection, improved performance of autofocus (AF) and basic bug fixes.
For both video and stills, firmware version 3.00, preceded by version 2.10, has an enhanced AF algorithm that detects distant faces more accurately than before. Fujifilm says the feature has been ‘enhanced by about %30’ but it doesn’t clarify whether it’s accuracy, speed, or a combination of the two. AF tracking is also more accurate, particularly when objects come between the camera and the subject, and a new Face Select function has been added to prioritize autofocus on specific subjects when multiple faces are in the frame.
Fujifilm has also added a new Double Tap Setting and Touch Function which can be activated in the Setting menu of the Touch Screen. Other improvements include a new focus frame when setting the eye detection, improving AF/AE tracking when using the EVF, updating how to label the Flicker Reduction mode and fixing multiple bugs.
You can get more information and download the firmware from Fujifilm’s website.
