Olympus has a reputation as one of the more ‘interactive’ camera brands when it comes to hosting hands-on events for the public. And his annual free photographic experience with Giffords Circus is always one of his calendar’s most popular events.
Continuing its 100th anniversary celebrations, this year the big top is heading to the stunning setting of Oxford University Parks and Olympus invites 100 guests to come along and take fantastic circus themed pictures using the best Olympus cameras (you can bring your own if you’re an existing user or borrow some of the latest kits).
Each participant will receive two tickets to an exclusive matinee performance of the latest Giffords show, Xanadu, which they will be able to shoot with some of the best mirrorless cameras available to their hearts’ content.
“This year’s 70s-inspired show ‘Xanadu’ captures the spirit of Coleridge’s Kubla Khan …It’s midsummer 1973 in Hyde Park and the flower power movement is at its height. Hippies, hipsters, rock stars, musicians, wild women and global nomads with Shamanic horses gather to play, sing dance, protest and perform.”
Olympus Ambassadors and product specialists will be available to help existing owners of Olympus learn new tricks with their kits or first to help users of other brands cope with the Micro Four Thirds system.
Giffords Circus provides a fantastically photogenic environment, and one that should not be missed is this rare opportunity to photograph a performance of the latest show. It should be the perfect opportunity to put the new Olympus OM-D E-M1X professional body through its paces with the challenging lighting conditions and fast-moving action.
To win one of the 100 free tickets, head over to the website of Olympus Imagespace to enter. The application deadline is 24 May 2019, so fill out the form while this weekend you are smashing a chocolate egg.
